Plans are well underway for the star-studded VIP celebration
for Viva Elvis' premiere Feb. 19 at Aria at CityCenter, and
Cirque du Soleil is expecting Paul McCartney and members of The Beatles
Love family at The Mirage to attend.
Cirque officials also are hoping for Ringo Starr with Barbara
Bach, Yoko Ono with Sean Lennon and George Harrison's widow Olivia. All
of them are fans of Elvis' music, and both John Lennon and Harrison
have admitted that the King of Rock and Roll inspired the two Brits.
Additionally, Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley are
scheduled to attend next week's premiere at the Elvis Theater in Aria.
Other musicians and Hollywood stars have already accepted invitations.
It will not be a red carpet gala, but in fact a blue carpet celebration
paying tribute to Elvis and those blue suede shoes.
As the spectacular $100 million production nears its official
unveiling, Viva Elvis still is undergoing creative fixation
by Cirque's top producers. This past week the production suspended four
nights of previews, including Saturday night's late show, for
continuing rehearsals as segments were deleted and numbers added.
This is said to be a normal part of Cirque's creation process,
as the colorful, action-packed musical nears its premiere. Priscilla
Presley herself has shuttled back and forth from her Malibu, Calif.,
home watching over and approving the changes as the Elvis show takes
its final shape.
"Nothing is wrong, and it's all going to be absolutely
incredible when it's really seen for the first time. The exciting
audience responses through previews have been phenomenal and
wonderfully enthusiastic with supportive suggestions," a theater source
said. A source also has confirmed that the Elvis character on stilts
has been dropped from the show.
For those who want to witness the star turnout, the blue
carpet starts at 6 p.m. Feb. 19, with a post-premiere gala planned for
that night, possibly lasting past the midnight hour.

Ex-Pulp guitarist Richard Hawley helps
Evlis' daughter relaunch music career
ELVIS PRESLEY'S daughter has enlisted the help of Mercury
Prize-nominated musician Richard Hawley to relaunch her pop music
career.
Lisa Marie Presley appeared onstage with Hawley as a surprise guest
during his concert last night to announce their songwriting
partnership.
Former Pulp and Longpigs guitarist Hawley recently rejuvenated the
career of Amarillo singer Tony Christie and is currently working with
Dame Shirley Bassey on her comeback album. He has also written for
Robbie Williams and Nancy Sinatra.
Presley, who appeared at London's 02 Shepherd's Bush Empire, said she
chose to collaborate with rockabilly crooner Hawley after she became a
fan of his music.
The two have already written a couple of songs together - one of which,
Weary, they performed together last night.
Speaking after the concert, Presley said: "I wrote the lyrics, Richard
wrote the music. I am the first person he has written a song for in
that way."
She added that the collaboration had so far been top secret, and that
her decision to go on stage was spur of the moment.
Presley said: "I only knew I was coming on stage four hours ago. I was
working with Richard today and we decided that I should go on, so I
didn't have long to think about it."
But the singer, once married to Michael Jackson, said she was happier
going on stage in the UK than in America.
She added: "I hadn't been on stage for a long time but I felt better
about doing here. People are more music-focused here than they are in
America. There when you go on stage you feel like they're going to rip
you to shreds, here everyone is very welcoming."
Presley has recorded two previous albums, To Whom It May Concern and
Now What, the most recent in 2005.
But she said there is no game plan for her comeback at present other
than to write more songs with Hawley, whom she described as a "lovely
man" and a "good friend".
She also denied her 17-year-old son Benjamin was following in her and
her father's footsteps by going into music.
"He's just a student and has no plans to be a rock star," she said.
Although Hawley is a known Elvis fan - and has covered his songs at
gigs - she said her father had not yet been discussed.
"We don't talk about him ... he just hasn't come up," she said.

Lisa's comments on her Official Myspace blog about MJ:
Years ago Michael and I
were having a deep conversation about life in general.
I can't
recall the exact
subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the
circumstances of
my Fathers Death.
At some
point he paused,
he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm
certainty,
"I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did."
I
promptly tried to deter
him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and
nodded
almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and
that was
kind of that.
14 years
later I am sitting
here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his
home,
the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds
outside
the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the
memory
of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.
A
predicted ending by him,
by loved ones and by me, but what I didn't predict was how much it was
going to
hurt when it finally happened.
The
person I failed to
help is being transferred right now to the LA County Coroners
office
for his Autopsy.
All of
my indifference and
detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the
years has just
gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted.
I am
going to say now
what I have never said before because I want the truth out there
for once.
Our
relationship was not
"a sham" as is being reported in the press. It was an
unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who
did not
live or know a "Normal life" found a connection, perhaps with some
suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as
much as he
could love anyone and I loved him very much.
I wanted
to "save
him" I wanted to save him from the inevitable which is what has
just
happened.
His
family and his loved
ones also wanted to save him from this as well but didn't know
how and
this was 14 years ago. We all worried that this would be the outcome
then.
At that
time, In trying to
save him, I almost lost myself.
He was
an incredibly
dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated.
When he
used it for
something good, It was the best and when he used it for something bad,
It was
really, REALLY bad.
Mediocrity
was not a
concept that would even for a second enter Michael Jackson's being or
actions.
I
became very ill
and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him
from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires
and
leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him.
I was in
over my head
while trying.
I had my
children to care
for, I had to make a decision.
The
hardest decision I
have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have
him, even
though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow.
After
the Divorce, I spent
a few years obsessing about him and what I could have done different,
in
regret.
Then I
spent some angry
years at the whole situation.
At some
point, I truly
became Indifferent, until now.
As I
sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion
at what
was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play
by play
The exact Scenario I saw happen on August 16th, 1977 happening
again right
now with Michael (A sight I never wanted to see again) just as he
predicted, I am truly, truly gutted.
Any ill
experience or
words I have felt towards him in the past has just died inside of
me along
with him.
He was
an amazing person
and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had
the many
experiences and years that we had together.
I
desperately hope that he
can be relieved from his pain, pressure and turmoil now.
He
deserves to be free
from all of that and I hope he is in a better place or will be.
I also
hope that anyone else who feels they have failed to help
him can be
set free because he hopefully finally is.
The
World is in shock but somehow he knew exactly how his fate would
be played
out some day more than anyone else knew, and he was right.
I really
needed to say
this right now, thanks for listening.

Today
is a very sad day for the music world.
Thursday, June 25, 2009.
Lisa lost her second ex-husband, Michael Jackson.
He was only 50 years old.
Lisa made an official statement saying: "I am so very sad and
confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken for his
children, who I know were everything to him, and for his family,"
Presley told MTV News in a statement. "This is such a massive loss on
so many levels. Words fail me."
Added
2 new videos of Lisa. One video is about the blog you see below and the
other is a beautiful photoshoot with Michael and the twins!

Now Is Not The Time.
I
wished I could be writing you under happier circumstances but I cannot
because Two of my very good friends, (John and Kelly Travolta ) the
sweetest people in the world have just encountered the worst possible
tragedy a parent could be forced to endure, the death of their son Jett.
My heart is crying and bleeding for them.
I personally would not have it in me to bury my own child.
I
am writing this because I have noticed that for the most part, people
and the media have been very sympathetic and respectful, but there are
those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an
opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?
Folks,
as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and
Scientologist's in the recent past , Now is NOT the time.
I realize
that there is a lot of mis information out there about the subject
which has caused a lot of stone throwing but we are not still in the
dark ages and it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in
and encourage such condemnation.
Among most of the crazy made up
garbage that goes around about it , It is not true that Scientologist's
"Don't believe in " medical care , medicine or medical Doctors and that
may have something to do with this terrible tragedy.
Just like anyone else, If one is sick , they go to the doctor, If a
medication will make it better then they take it.
If they don't then they are an idiot and you can't blame their religion.
Whatever
medical and or physical condition Jett had , I can tell you first hand
that his parents were on a tireless, never ending quest to get and
provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and
need, Medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually.
I am not writing this to preach my beliefs, I am here to protect my
friends.
To the few of you out there that this may apply to,
Let's not use the tragic death of a child to facilitate your insatiable
need to attack and destroy Scientology shall we?
John
and Kelly have done nothing but spend their lives and their time
helping others, making people happy and making peoples lives better.
Please let this family grieve in peace.
~LMP
PS, I am so sorry it has been such a long time since I have written.
I have just been soaking up the love and the happiness that these two
little babies have brought us.
More on that soon.......:)
Thank you so much for all of your well wishes.
I love and miss you very much.
I'll be in touch.

WITH THE HELP OF YouTube
Jefferson grad to cover inaugural ball in Washington, D.C. as talk show
host
By WARREN DILLAWAY - Staff Writer
Star Beacon
ASHTABULA — The road from the halls of Jefferson High School to the red
carpet of a presidential inaugural ball is proving an interesting
journey for 1985 graduate Gregory Mantell.
“We are an independent talk show, but the plan is global syndication,”
said Mantell, who began his communications career as editor of the high
school newspaper.
Mantell has been able to take advantage of new Internet media
possibilities. During the last two years, he has developed a talk show
in Los Angeles, which is broadcast through YouTube on the Internet. It
is sold to other outlets as well, Mantell said.
The financial side of Internet media has improved to the point Mantell
was able to quit his day job as an information technology specialist
for an oil company.
A variety of relationships with numerous media have presented the
opportunity to cover the Purple Inaugural Ball on Jan. 20, 2009, at the
Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. Mantell said Lou Gossett Jr. is
hosting the event, and a variety of celebrities are expected to attend,
including actors Ashley Judd, Patricia Arquette, Amy Brenneman, Susan
Sarandon and John Cusack, and Lisa
Marie Presley.
The talk show has grown in the two years since Mantell started it. The
show has registered more than 1.5 million Internet hits. Many of those
are on the Web site YouTube.
“We are a YouTube partnership, which means we get a cut of the ad
revenue,” he said.
The way to success includes a significant maze of relationships, which
led to contacts, which lead to new guests, which in turn lead to higher
visibility and eventual advertising profitability.
The 26-minute show airs regularly and has Internet viewers from all
over the world.
“I have gotten video or e-mails from every continent,” he said of the
growing viewership.
Mantell said the success of an Internet show grows in cycles.
“There’s a point where it just explodes,” he said. Mantell believes his
show is getting to that point.
The format of the show includes interviews and stories relating to
social issues, celebrity interviews and fitness information. He said
the move to celebrities is important for viewership, but the plan is to
continue solid socially relevant programming, as well.
“The bigger celebrity we have on, the more hits we get,” Mantell said.
He wants to find the proper balance for the program.
“We don’t want it to be depressing, and we don’t want it to be fluff,”
he said.

Lisa
Marie Presley is commemorating the 30th anniversary of her father's
death by singing along with him. Elvis
Presley's only child, who has released two albums of her own, will
premiere the video of a posthumous duet with her dad on his classic 'In
the Ghetto' Thursday night at the the 30th Anniversary Elvis Presley
Tribute Concert in Memphis. Starting on Friday, it will be available
for viewing here on Spinner.
The video, directed by Tony Kaye ('American History X'), was shot in
New Orleans, and, as Presley tells Spinner, she was so touched by the
lingering affects of Hurricane Katrina that she decided to make this
video more than just a tribute to her dad.
"I landed there to do the video, and I looked around when I got off the
plane ... It looks like Katrina happened six months ago," Presley says.
"So, that's when it all fell together."
As
everyone I'm sure is aware, the anniversary of Lisa's dad Elvis' death,
(30 years) is coming up on Aug. 16th. Lisa will make an appearance on
Good Morning America this week and will be at the Elvis tribute concert
on that day, with her mother, Priscilla. The video of GMA will be
